Larry the Louse and the Great Texas Camp Dream

Larry the Louse had never been more thrilled in his entire 14 day life.

The news traveled fast across Emma’s scalp — faster than recess gossip and twice as dramatic.

Emma was going to SUMMER CAMP!

Texas camps, to Larry, were the promised land.

Wide open spaces. New cities. New heads from Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio… the expansion map in his tiny louse brain lit up like a Buc-ee’s sign at night.

“This is it!” Larry announced to his roommates while clinging heroically to a sturdy braid. “This is our multi-city rollout. Think of the networking opportunities! Cowboy hats! Shared hairbrushes!

The roommates cheered.

“I’ve always wanted to visit Austin!”

“I heard Houston has humidity!”

“Do you think we’ll meet San Antonio cousins?”

Larry began drafting his future business card:

Larry L. Louse

Regional Scalp Expansion Specialist

Texas Division

He imagined new landlords from every corner of the Lone Star State. A thriving scalp-to-scalp economy.

Everything was going perfectly.

And then…

Mom walked in.

“Emma, last stop before camp — we’re heading to Lice Clinics of Texas for a pre summer camp lice check.”

The room went silent.

Larry froze mid-presentation. His Texas expansion map crumpled in his mind. Summer camp dreams had been canceled. The Dallas branch? Gone. Austin dreams? Evaporated. Houston humidity? No longer relevant.

Within the hour, Larry and his friends realized their grand Texas tour had been… cancelled. Permanently. No bunk beds. No cowboy hats. No multi-city scalp portfolio.

Just a very clean ending.

Whomp. Whomp.

Moral of the Story (for Humans, Not Larry)

If your child is heading to Texas summer camp, a quick professional head screening beforehand can save everyone a lot of itching, whispering, and emergency phone calls.

Getting checked before camp means:

• No surprise infestations in the bunk

• No midnight scratching symphonies

• No accidental “lice love” shared across the state of Texas

A private clinic visit keeps the only things spreading at camp limited to friendship bracelets, camp songs, and maybe a little homesickness — not Larry and his real-estate dreams.
