Camp season is one of our favorite times of the year at Lice Clinics of Texas. The excitement, the packing lists, the bus rides, the friendships waiting to happen… it’s all part of those core childhood memories. That’s why we love attending Camp Conference and partnering with camps to help keep lice out of the cabins.
We’ve been working with summer camps since 2014, helping camps manage lice through on-site treatments and live screenings when needed. Over the years we’ve learned a lot about what works best to keep lice from spreading at camp.
And the best solution we’ve found? Stop lice before it ever gets to the gates of camp.
Our Pre-Camp Lice Check Program allows campers to come into one of our clinics for a professional head screening before they leave for camp. If anything is found, it can be treated quickly and privately in the clinic long before the bus ever pulls away.
This approach has dramatically reduced lice cases showing up at camp, which means fewer interruptions to camp fun.
Unfortunately for Larry the Louse, this also means his summer camp dreams are getting crushed. Every year Larry hopes for a bus full of new campers to hitch a ride with… and every year more and more families send their kids to camp lice-free thanks to pre-camp checks. Sorry, Larry.
For parents, the peace of mind is priceless. No one wants to get the phone call saying their child has lice at camp and needs to miss activities to be treated.
What we really want is simple:
Kids making s’mores, swimming in the lake, staying up too late with their bunkmates, and having the time of their lives.
Lice doesn’t need to be part of that memory.
Let Lice Clinics of Texas help make sure your camper arrives at camp happy, confident, and lice-free, so they don’t miss a minute of the fun.
Camp spots fill up quickly, and so do pre-camp screenings, so be sure to visit our website and book your camper’s lice check early.
Larry may be packing his bags for camp…
but with a pre-camp check, he won’t be getting a ride.
